I’ve looked forward to Eliza’s bat mitzvah for a long time. After her brothers’ b’nai mitzvah back in 2011, their mother Maggie wasted no time in letting me know that Eliza’s bat mitzvah was just five years away to make sure I reserved the date. It is always a good idea to plan ahead to avoid any conflicts, but I think Maggie wins for giving me Eliza’s date three years ahead of time.

It was a joy to see so many familiar faces again. Brothers Bert and Harrison, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, all traveled from near and far to take part in this monumental event. And, of course, after the service at Rodef Shalom, a party followed, with all kinds of activities to keep everyone entertained, fed and having a great time.

Eliza – mazel tov! You did wonderfully, and it’s clear that everyone enjoyed the service and celebration.

Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the day, which included the pre-service rehearsal and portraits in addition to the actual service and party later on.
