I love when brides choose not just one, but two accent colors for their wedding details. Mixing it up a little bit adds a lot of flavor to your wedding design. There’s no need for everything to match exactly! Just as I wouldn’t recommend couples dressing exactly alike for an engagement session. Coordinating with complimentary colors works much better.

Consider Emily & Tim’s wedding at the Pittsburgh Zoo – Water’s Edge.

Check out Emily’s shoes. Bright green! They look gorgeous paired with her bouquet of orange and cream roses.

The bridesmaids’ dresses were a chocolate brown, but the colors of the day were brought in with a green sash and orange bouquets.

The aisle decorations were tied in to the color scheme, too. I love the accent here combined with Emily’s bouquet.

There’s no need for centerpieces to match, either. What better to use to tie into a color scheme using apple gren than…. of course, apples! For centerpieces, tables alternated between clear glass vases with green apples…

… and informal arrangements of orange roses. Emily made all the bouquets herself, and had assistance from Desiree of Hello Productions with the centerpieces.

Apples were used as accents throughout the Water’s Edge area.

So, brides – if you’re trying to decide on a color to use for your wedding, and can’t decide – don’t! Do what my husband does when he can’t decide between two things. Go with both!
