Laura & Matt’s wedding – Duquesne University & Hilton Garden Inn

Saturday, August 6 marked the date for Laura and Matt’s wedding at the Duquesne University chapel. You may remember this gorgeous couple from their Mellon Park/North Shore engagement session last summer.

The day began at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe, where Laura and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by Alisha Nichole Studio. Here’s Laura’s stunning Alfred Angelo gown. I remember Laura describing the dress as a “flowing cascade.” Yep, I see what she means! So, so pretty.

Laura, her bridesmaids, the groomsmen and I then traveled by limo over to Duquesne for the wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, Matt snuck a kiss while Laura’s bridesmaids bustled her dress.

After the ceremony we drove over to Schenley Park for photo time. Just married!

While I shot some portraits of Matt and his groomsmen, my assistant Katia Forero captured this beautiful portrait of Laura enjoying the swing on Flagstaff Hill.Spontaneous happy dance. Photo by Katia.Reception time!Laura’s sister, Anna, gave a very sweet and teary toast.Anna’s toast was followed by a Best man toast so epic, it’s going to get its own blog post later this week. Stay tuned. After Laura and Matt’s first dance, Laura and her mother danced a polka, honoring Laura’s Finnish heritage. Laura has very strong ties to her family overseas in Finland, and she and Matt actually traveled to Finland and celebrated another wedding with her family there this past weekend! Many props to Laura and Matt and their families for managing to plan not just one, but two major events in the span of a week.Matt and his mom.Dance time! The bridal party had a great time on the dance floor.

Congratulations Laura and Matt!
