What’s better than photographing a Bat Mitzvah celebration? Photographing a second Bat Mitzvah celebration for the same family! Two years ago, I took part in older sister Elana’s Bat Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Shalom. Now it was younger sister Dalia’s turn.
As photography isn’t permitted during the Saturday morning service, I met Dalia and her family at Congregation Beth Shalom on Friday afternoon. We used that time for family photos, and photos of Dalia reading from the Torah. While these aren’t photos of the actual event, because this is just a photo op, I’m able to use flattering lighting and make use of the beautiful space. In this case, that means these enormous stained glass windows. What a gorgeous sanctuary.
On Saturday evening I joined Dalia and her family and friends on the Gateway Clipper’s Princess boat. While it was pretty cold and rainy almost the entire night, I don’t think the kids cared too much! Alan and Josh of ABK Productions kept the kids and adults entertained with games and music. Dalia’s family created a terrific photo/video montage, and her friends presented her with a giant poster full of photos of favorite memories. What a great night!
Mazel tov, Dalia!
