Mazel tov to Avi! This Hamilton-loving boy amazed and astonished as he became a Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Shalom last weekend. We met two days before the service for some photos, and then celebrated on Sunday with a party of family and friends at the Pittsburgh Golf Club. And what a party it was! Entertainer Howard Mincone juggled, there was a two-level hora, moving speeches by Avi’s father, brother and uncle, and a Greek mythology rap written by Avi and performed by all the guests. Plus, last but not least, That Guy with the Birds brought a wide variety of rescued birds with talents including basketball and dancing to Cabinet Battle #1 from Hamilton.
Avi’s mom, Judi, put a lot of work into planning this event, and it all came together perfectly. Here are some of my favorite photos.
