Whitney & Kudzi's Wedding - Phipps Conservatory & Omni William Penn - Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer Christina Montemurro

Congratulations to Whitney and Kudzi on their fabulous wedding at Phipps and the Omni William Penn! I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time, and was so happy to finally see these two married in an outdoor garden ceremony full of laughs, smiles and cheers.

Our day began with Whitney & Kudzi getting ready at the Omni William Penn. While I photographed Whitney, the fabulous Pamela was with Kudzi and his groomsmen. We were so lucky to get their ceremony in at Phipps just before the rain arrived! While the rain prevented us from shooting any portraits at Phipps after the ceremony, fortunately we were headed back to the Omni for the reception, so we had plenty of beautiful indoor space available for portraits.

The reception was held in the intimate Bob and Delores Hope room on the mezzanine level. With floral design by Allison McGeary, the room looked absolutely amazing. The sequin chair sashes on the chiavari chairs were an elegant touch, along with many candles and lots of red roses. DJ Nick Nice provided the evening’s entertainment – and it was fantastic!

It was WINDY!

One of my favorite things about this ceremony was how the guests cheered as the bridal party entered. So upbeat and festive and celebratory. I dare you not to smile after seeing Kudzi’s smile. A special shout out to Kudzi’s mom who traveled from ZIMBABWE for this wedding!

Omni William Penn Wedding – Bob and Delores Hope Room

The speeches were wonderful. I loved that Whitney’s matron of honor encouraged everyone to talk to those around you. You never know who you might meet and what connections you might make… after all, how else would these two have found each other, having grown up on different continents?
