I’ve been looking forward to Nicole and Rob’s Fox Chapel Golf Club wedding for a long time! They’ve been on the blog before, when Pamela photographed their Frick Park engagement session last fall. You may recall that Rob’s winning line was to admire Nicole’s purse and say he had one just like it. From getting to know Rob a little bit, it’s not surprising to hear the first thing he ever said to Nicole was a joke. Rob loves pranks and jokes, and has a reputation among his friends for breaking out hijinks at past weddings. For example, at his Best Man Adam’s wedding, Rob scoured Facebook for silly photos of Adam, and then had them blown up and mounted on sticks, which he brought out at Adam’s reception.

You’ll be glad to know that Rob’s friends returned the favor with a little stunt of their own… but I’m going to leave you in suspense and let Pamela share those photos.

Rob has a serious side, though, too – in his words, “Nicole compliments and balances me. She lets me relax…I can be a little uptight.” And as for Nicole, “I love his honesty, his humor and his loyalty. I love that he supports me in whatever my decision; he truly is my rock, always there for me emotionally and he’s such a good listener whenever I need to vent. He makes me a better person.”

I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time, as at this wedding Pamela was lead photographer, while I represented my sister company Syncopated Pictures and shot video. I couldn’t ask for more than to collaborate with Pamela on this gorgeous summer wedding! Here’s a sneak preview of Nicole and Rob’s video.

Pamela will be sharing her favorite images soon. Here are a few of my favorites of her beautiful work.

Nicole and her bridesmaids got ready in the Ladies’ Locker Room. With huge windows looking out on to the golf course, there is so much natural light, perfect for getting ready photos! Here makeup artist Joy Lager of JL Makeup Studio puts the finishing touches on Nicole’s makeup.

Rob shares a moment with his very happy mom. Love those smiles!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the bridesmaids’ dresses! Each bridesmaid chose a light pink short dress. Aren’t they perfect for a warm June day? So light and airy. And those bouquets from The Farmer’s Daughter were perfect.

Nicole and Rob’s ceremony was held in a gorgeous outdoor space, right at the edge of a hilltop overlooking the golf course.

There are many reasons to love this venue, but this atrium space is probably my favorite. It’s like being inside and outside at the same time. Those archways, the fountain in the middle of the room, the railings, the twinkle lights… this is a room full of light and charm. I love it and could shoot here all the time!

I loved these groupings of small centerpieces. So simple and elegant, and they don’t obscure your view from people across the table or across the room.

Stunning! I LOVE peonies.

On to the tasty stuff. Guests were treated to an assortment of mini cupcakes, and Nicole and Rob cut this super pretty cake by Bella Christie.

And…. the cookie table! This cookie table was no joke. Macarons, cake pops, red velvet cookies, iced sugar cookies, pizzelles and more. Much more. I love photographing cookies. And while when I’m shooting video I usually stick to video, I couldn’t help myself, and the next two photos are mine.

After dinner, Nicole changed into a short dress (so pretty!) and Pamela photographed a few portraits in the beautiful evening light. (According to Burgh Brides, this is the #1 Must-Do at your wedding reception!)

One more photo and very important credit: Nicole with her wedding planner, Kourtney of Epic Event Planning by Jessica and Kourtney. Kourtney was extremely helpful, responsive and capable throughout the entire planning process, and even more so on the actual wedding day. Thank you Kourtney for making this day perfect for Nicole and Rob.
