With the holidays just behind us, I have a feeling there are a lot of newly engaged couples out there. Maybe it went something like this…
It was a cold day, and she thought it a little odd that he suggested walking down to the river before dinner. But, well, why not? It’s a pretty view, even if it’s cold, and they wouldn’t stay long. Just a couple minutes. They’d have plenty of time to be warm during dinner. And they’d walk briskly to keep warm.
Except… when they got down by the river, he stopped and started saying some words that came so quickly she hardly heard them. And then he was down on one knee?!
She said yes. They hugged, kissed, hugged some more, laughed, and smiled. They held hands and looked out at the city.
All thoughts of being cold were gone. They sat down at the edge of the water and soaked it all in.
