Okay, so his birthday was two weeks ago… I’m a little late, I know.  Two weeks ago, Jonas, my youngest, turned 5. He is just itching to start kindergarten, and considering the questions he fires at me, I think he’ll be a hit there. Unless he ends up in the classroom with the life-sized Kermit the Frog, because for some reason Jonas is terrified of muppets.

Actual questions: “How many people live on earth?” “Do people eat nachos when they’re happy?” “How much does the earth weigh?” “What happens if you throw a dime into a volcano?” “When you’re in your mom’s belly, can you choose whether to be a boy or a girl?”

Instead of just sharing images of what my darling boy looks like now that he’s five, I’m going to share some of my favorites from the past year.

Here we go…

Dyeing Easter eggs.

I was about to leave for a 4-day trip to Chicago. On my way out to the car, I asked Jonas if I could take a photo so I’d have one in my camera to look at and remember. This is what I got!

Spring!Summer! He’s singing “Party Rock Anthem” here. Next two photos by my friend Jennifer Stein at our family shoot. Fall! We were playing in the hay at Soergel’s when someone spotted this little crate. Halloween: Captain Jack Sparrow. And finally, it’s winter again. Jonas was a huge help in decorating our tree. And we went on a date, just the two of us, to see The Nutcracker. We made a quick trip to New York right before Christmas. His favorite NYC activity: climbing on the rocks in Central Park. Finally: Christmas morning in his favorite pjs. Happy birthday my wonderful boy!
