I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed so much at an initial meeting as I did when Nicki and I first met Jordan and Mike. We all met at my house so that we could learn all we needed to know to prepare for their logistics of their wedding day. But perhaps more importantly, we also wanted to get to know them, find out what makes them unique, and why they’ve decided to spend their lives together. It wasn’t hard to do – they’re both fun, insightful and witty, and the kind of people you immediately feel like you’ve known forever. They sure had some funny stories, most notably the story of how many people in Jordan’s town knew she was engaged before she did. Their wedding was at Shady Elms Farm, just a little outside Pittsburgh in the little town of Hickory. What a gorgeous sunny summer day! I couldn’t get over how relaxed and organized everything was, so there was lots of time for everyone to relax and enjoy being together both before and after the ceremony. And you know you are going to have a great day when the officiant begins his homily by explaining that he knows the bride and groom because he used to be their bartender! The whole day was amazing from start to finish, but if I had to pick a favorite part, it would be hearing Jordan and Mike read the vows they wrote themselves. Nicki and I had noticed each of them fine tuning them earlier in the day, and had looked forward to hearing them. They were perfect. Enjoy their movie – and come find us on Facebook, too!
