The 2012 wedding season is here! Barbara and Scot were so happy and radiant the entire day, that looking back, I barely even remember that the rain never stopped.

Everyone found the day’s events thrilling. This is Ben, Scot’s son, just as Barbara began her walk down the aisle.

How could I not be thrilled to shoot inside this gorgeous church, Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Polish Hill? The weather does not make the slightest difference when you’re in here. Photo by my second shooter Alisa Innocenti. Add to the ornate decor that Barbara’s parents – as well as her grandparents – were married in this church, and you have one perfect ceremony location. After shooting family photos inside the church, we went to the long, covered walkway that runs under the David Lawrence Convention Center. This is a great spot for rainy day photos – a simple background with great light. It was pretty cold, so we finished Barbara & Scot’s portraits inside the Heinz History Center. To our amazement, one of the first photographs we spotted was of Immaculate Heart of Mary – where they just had their wedding! Photo by Alisa. We also stopped in the Library & Archives room. This probably isn’t what normally goes on here. Also seems a good time to mention that these two met while playing tennis.

And the Heinz exhibit. My favorite photo, right here. Scot didn’t want to leave…As always, the combined staff of the Common Plea and the Heinz History Center had the Great Hall looking spectacular. Spectacular cake by Prantl’s. Close up, you could see individual grains of sugar on the icing.I don’t know if I’ve ever seen guests so eager to devour a cookie table as this one! While we were shooting Barb & Scot’s portraits, I asked what their first dance song was. They paused for a moment, and my first thought was, “they haven’t decided yet?!” But then they shared that it would be a salsa dance… but they hadn’t told anyone. Their guests were in for a terrific surprise. Ah, toasts. One of my favorite parts of any wedding day. Upbeat band Mercedez played a great blend of upbeat songs.
Very memorable Best Man Jeff and his son, Lucas. Maid of Honor, Beth

Congratulations, Barbara & Scot! I hope you have a terrific trip to Costa Rica.
