Melissa and Jason met at a music festival in West Virginia four years ago. Of course, they’ve attended every year since then to commemmorate the spot where they met. And to hear some great music, too.

Since they have a dog, Max, and live across the street from Dog Paradise (aka Frick Park), we headed over there for their engagement session.

It was hot. No denying that. But the evening light was perfect and so beautiful in the wide open space of Upper Frick.

Max, Melissa & Jason’s 9-year-old Boxer, isn’t into toys. He rolls his eyes at tennis balls, ignores frisbees, and pays no attention to sticks. But he does like to run. I love this big field in Upper Frick. I asked Melissa and Jason to stop when I saw this strip of sunlight coming through the woods. The sun is ornery, though. While I paused to switch lenses, the sun dipped behind a cloud. I started preparing some off camera lighting, and then it peeked back out again.

Melissa, and Jason, thanks for braving the heat. I’m looking forward to your wedding at the Edgewood Club in October!
