Joy & Jason were married on Friday, August 13 at the Hyeholde Restaurant in Coraopolis, with their closest friends and family attending. The Hyeholde is a beautiful, historic little castle. I could shoot there all day!
The building itself and the landscaping provide an endless supply of photo opportunities.
While Joy was getting ready, Jason and his son, ring bearer Jonas (what a great name!) waited upstairs in the loft area.
Meanwhile… (that’s Joy on the right)
I liked the contrast of the stone wall inside the Hyeholde with Joy’s elegant shoes.
Birdcage veil!
Loved this moment: Jonas makes sure to get the shot.
How Joy and Jason found me: Jason and Mark have been friends since high school. Mark is engaged to Pamela, who I’ve assisted several times, and who has also graciously assisted me. As Pamela and Mark were returning from a three-week European vacation just two days before Joy & Jason’s wedding, committing to shooting their wedding was not in the cards. But when you are a wedding photographer, and there’s a wedding happening around you, it is quite difficult to put your camera away. So I was happy to have both Pamela and Mark help me shoot during the ceremony and for Joy & Jason’s portraits.
Perfect bubble capture by Mark.
Joy opted to remove her veil and let her hair down for their portraits. Hooray for doing this in the most perfect beautfiul evening light!
Jason homebrews. He undertook and completed the task of supplying beer for the celebration. This beer lover was JEALOUS. (I don’t drink and shoot.)
Look at it sitting there, all refreshing and tempting. Yep, jealous.
Jason dancing with his other special lady, his daughter Elise.
Pamela and Mark, who will be married in just over two months.
Congratulations Joy & Jason!
