Brides and grooms choosing to get married in Pittsburgh are fortunate to have a wide variety of venues for their weddings. This is the third in a series of features on some of these sites. I hope that these photos will be helpful to those trying to narrow their search and envision their wedding at any of these places. I can remember when I was planning my wedding, I could never get enough or see enough when trying to imagine how all the details would come together.
Springwood Conference Center
I had the opportunity to discover Springwood while shooting with the amazing Heather Lahtinen of Weddings by Heather this past summer. Springwood Conference Center is located on a quiet, woodsy street in Verona, about 15 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh, and just a few minutes from Oakmont and Monroeville. A long driveway leads through the grounds up to the farmhouse.
Just next to the farmhouse, down a few steps, is a level courtyard, beautifully landscaped into the hillside. This is a perfect spot for a wedding ceremony.

The grounds at Springwood are spacious, well-kept and provide numerous opportunities for portraits of the bride and groom.
Receptions are held inside the airy, bright glass atrium. The doors at the far end open up to the dance floor.

For couples desiring a wedding in a quiet, peaceful setting, but still close to the city, take a look at Springwood.

I will be out of town visiting my family from December 23 – January 1. I’ll have access to e-mail, but will be slower to respond than usual. I appreciate your patience as I enjoy some quality family time!
Since every post is better with pictures, here are two of Leo last week during our chocolate-covered-pretzel-making extravaganza. His attention to detail for sprinkling was unmeasured. And generous.

Your wedding day is one you’ll look back on forever. You spend so long planning all the small details, and won’t have as much time as you’d like to enjoy them. So for your wedding album, a sturdy, flush-mount album is a perfect way to preserve all your memories and tell the story of your day.
What is a flush-mount album? It’s a bound book created by mounting photographic prints onto stiff backing. The pages are firm and do not bend. It feels more substantial than an ordinary book.
Your album comes with a protective fabric bag.
The cover is a beautiful, soft, supple leather.
And you can choose from numerous colors, ranging from vibrant to subtle and classic.

Beautiful photographic prints are mounted on sturdy, durable material. Photos can be printed across the full spread, and create quite a dramatic impact.

Albums are available in 8×8, 10×10 and 12×12. Also available are adorable little 4×4 albums, great for parents and grandparents.
If you’re looking for an album that’s a little bit more lightweight, linen covers are available in place of leather.
Pictured below: a 4×4 linen album sitting on top of a 10×10 leather album.

Having trouble deciding? It’s easier to get a sense of these in person. I’m happy to schedule a meeting and show these to you. Contact me to set up an appointment.

I love snow! I couldn’t be happier to have our first snowfall just a few days before Christmas, and for it to be a good one – about six inches!
