Introducing Tasty Tuesday!

Now that wedding season has wrapped up, I’m happy to have a little time to share some of the amazing details featured at this year’s weddings. I look forward to showing off some very original reception decor ideas, flowers, color schemes and more.

One of my favorite details to photograph (and I admit, I really enjoy shooting details!) is the wedding cake. Even though I’m not actually a huge fan of eating cake, I’m fascinated by the artistry and creativity of cake decorating. If I had a couple more lifetimes to live, you can be sure I’d fine some time to learn how to create cake masterpieces. Or… be a florist. You know, styling hair is pretty amazing too…

Anyhow… back to cakes (and we’ll be seeing some cookie tables here in the mix, too.) Jessica and Jason’s wedding at Armstrong Farms featured an outdoorsy tree theme. Each layer of their cake was surrounded by a ring of straw and colorful wildflowers. So pretty!

A birds’ nest sat on top.I loved photographing the cake with the glowing lights of Armstrong Farms’ Fieldstone Barn.

Jessica and Jason’s cake was created by Paddy Cake.

Wedding details: elegant paisley invitations, place cards, and more!

My jaw dropped when I opened Lauren and Sid’s wedding invitation. I’m a fan of anything with swirls, and so I immediately fell in love with the swirly paisleys on the invitation and response card. Lauren and Sid found these gems, called Park Avenue by Postscript Brooklyn at a shop near their home in Brooklyn, New York, Lion in the Sun.undefinedThe rest of the wedding stationery matched the invitations perfectly. Designed by Rachel Spirer (who’s married to Phipps’ head caterer, Jeff Spirer) they tied everything together.

Escort cards…undefinedAnd finally, my two favorites – the menu cards and table numbers. I loved these striped linens with orange accents so very much. Together with the coral napkins – truly gorgeous.

undefinedAdd a little sunlight and the centerpiece of orange peonies, and we’re done. Beautiful choices, Lauren and Sid!undefined
