Wedding Details: Woodsy Wedding Theme

Katie Ann grew up on a picture-perfect organic herb farm just across the Ohio border. Her parents still live in this tranquil spot, and her dad still actually chops his own wood for their wood-burning stove. So choosing a woodsy theme for their wedding was a natural choice, especially given the dark wood walls and dark chairs of their reception room.

Katie Ann’s dad cut this wood board from his property, and she painted the date on it herself. And the logs holding the escort cards came courtesy of her parents’ farm, too.

The wood table numbers complemented the escort cards perfectly.I loved the blend of color, twigs and a few delicate roses.

Tasty Tuesday #8 + wedding details: lots of purple and green

For Liz and Ryan’s wedding at the Carnegie Museum last summer, they chose a purple and green theme. They did a fabulous job carrying that theme through all of their wedding details. Such creativity! There’s a lot to see, so I’m going to try to keep my commentary to a minimum. I’ll try.

Many of Liz and Ryan’s guests came from out of town. This bottle of yinzer blanc was just one of the items in these personalized gift bags waiting for each guest at their hotel.

The green they used was such a nice, light, summery green.Love the contrast between the light green hydrangeas and the deep purple bridesmaid dresses.A purple-and-green iced chocolate-covered pretzel awaited each guest at the reception.Who says the bridesmaids are the only ones to carry out the purple and green theme? The groomsmen sported customized Converse sneakers. And matching argyle socks, too.And finally, we get to the tasty part of Tasty Tuesday! This was an exceptional cookie table display. Can you see what that little mountain of cookies behind the sign is?Fortune cookies iced in purple and green! I loved these. So festive and fun.And more chocolate dipped pretzels. YUM.Last but definitely not least… these monogrammed sugar cookies. Look how perfect they are!
