I’m currently in Boston enjoying a couple kid-free days with my husband, but in the spirit of 4th of July, am sharing a few fireworks photos. I shot these back on June 25th, when Pittsburgh held a big Skyblast and Huey Lewis concert in honor of Heather and Bill’s fabulous destination wedding. Okay, maybe not in their honor, but we can pretend, right?
Since Heather and Bill had their ceremony on the Gateway Clipper, and the boat dropped us all off at PNC Park, at the end of the night I got on another Gateway Clipper boat to be shuttled back over to Station Square where I’d parked my car. That gave me a great view of the fireworks and these photos.
It’s pretty difficult to get a great fireworks photo without a tripod – and I was not going to be carrying a tripod around all night – so I had to make do with leaning on the railing of the boat.
As the boat was moving, I decided instead to focus my attention on non-fireworks, like these amazing reflections in the Allegheny River.
And this downtown building looking kind of demonic from reflected red fireworks.
Happy 4th of July!
