Back in the 80s, when I was a kid, I went to a string of weddings for some of my older cousins. Every single one of them met their spouse in a bar. So, I basically grew up thinking, if you want to meet the person you’re going to marry, you’d better spend some time in bars.

Now that I’m a wedding photographer, I haven’t found this to be true. It wasn’t true for me either, but how I met my husband Matt is another story. Today the story at hand is the story of Nicole and Rob, who did indeed meet at a bar.

Nicole had gone to Olive or Twist in downtown Pittsburgh with some friends. Rob walked up to her, admired her purse and told her he had one just like it. She laughed, they hit it off, and now they’re preparing to get married in June next year.

Pamela will be photographing their wedding at the Fox Chapel Golf Club; I’ll be happy to be there shooting video with Syncopated Pictures.

Nicole and Rob lucked out with an absolutely perfect September evening for their engagement session. Pamela found lots of golden light in Frick Park and created many beautiful images of this gorgeous couple. Here are a few favorites.

Nicole and Rob, thanks so much for a great evening. We are very much looking forward to June!
