Pittsburgh Unique Wedding Reception Venue Spotlight: PNC Park

Pittsburgh has lots of fantastic choices for brides and grooms looking for unique, nontraditional wedding reception venues. One to consider is PNC Park. You can’t beat the convenient North Shore location. You can’t beat the views. You can’t beat that the bridal party has access to the ballpark for photos!

You can choose to have your cocktail hour in the Gunner’s Lounge, which is on the club level of the ballpark. There’s a very spacious bar and lounge area inside.

And that inside area is very nice – but even nicer is the outside. You and your guests can enjoy this fantastic outdoor balcony with the best view of the Pittsburgh skyline.
There’s really nothing like having the ballpark to yourselves!

After cocktail hour, your guests head downstairs to the Lexus Club. The decor is warm and inviting, and a little different than your typical ballroom. I love the ceiling light fixtures. The dance floor is in the middle of the room. The lighting, wood, carpet and baseball accents combine for such a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff at PNC Park is very attentive and takes care of every detail, from providing quick service to serving delicious food. And the finishing touch – the bar at the Lexus Club is not just a bar. It’s a whole bar/lounge area. Guests can actually sit at the bar if they want to! So after dinner, those who want a break from dancing can move over to the bar area to relax and chat. And if they don’t want to sit at the bar, they can choose any of these comfortable chairs or leather couches and enjoy a roaring fire.

If you love Pittsburgh and want something a little different for your wedding, definitely check out PNC Park!

Hi lady!

LOVE PNC Park – it is definitely a fun reception location, although I haven’t shot in the Lexus Club. It looks lovely, though! Hope to see you at lunch next week!

Julia & Chris’s snowy engagement pictures in downtown Pittsburgh

Julia emailed me in November asking if we could schedule her engagement session while she and Chris were visiting Pittsburgh for the holidays. I was afraid this might not work out, because while many people come back to Pittsburgh to visit their families, I leave Pittsburgh to go spend a week with mine. Luckily, it worked out that Julia and Chris arrived right before I left, so we were able to get their session in just before I left town.

It was a pretty cold and snowy morning. But Julia and Chris live in Wisconsin, so this was no big deal to them. I love winter, and love the holidays, so I was happy to be out shooting. Here are a few of my favorites.

Julia and Chris – can’t wait to see you on your wedding day in August!

These ladies from the midwest have got it all together when it comes to cute cold weather gear. Julia shows another reason for you to love white winter coats.

Julia and Chris look so happy in these photos. I love the look of the bokeh of the Christmas lights in the 3rd photo. In the same photo, their expressions are so relaxed and casual. And the lines in the photo of them standing in front of PPG.
