Liz & Ryan’s wedding – Carnegie Museum Music Hall Foyer

What wonderful people Liz and Ryan are! Smart, sincere, considerate and clearly very devoted to each other. They’ve known each other a long time and were thrilled to finally be getting married this past Saturday, a rather hot but beautiful sunny July day.

Liz’s dress – nice and light to keep her cool in the heat.

This is Liz’s sister, Jen, who impressed everyone by doing her own hair. Her mom dutifully held up this tiny mirror – that was all the help Jen needed!Liz was beyond happy to finally be able to wear her beautiful dress.Once her dress was on, Liz’s bridesmaid Julieanne brought her a meticulously wrapped (and color-coordinated) gift from Ryan.Along with the beautiful gift was a note from Ryan, finally revealing the surprise of where they’d be going on their honeymoon. Liz is pleased! My assistant Katia Forero captured this image of groom Ryan and his groomsmen showing off their matching argyle socks.

After the ceremony at Saints John and Paul in Wexford, the bridal party drove over to Soergel’s Orchard for photos. Soergel’s is a great little market with a bakery, produce, lots and lots of flowers and all kinds of other groceries and gifts. In the fall, they have lots of pumpkin-related festivities. For Liz and Ryan Soergel’s is also the place where they worked many hours throughout high school and college. So not only was the apple orchard a beautiful and convenient photo location, it also had personal significance to them. I can’t say enough how much I love these photos! You have probably also noticed how gorgeous and fit these two are. Both Liz and Ryan spend a lot of time at the gym on the Cross Fit circuit.Photo by Katia.Liz and Ryan’s wedding day allowed plenty of time for photography, so we also made a quick stop on the North Shore. Also joining us was Nicki Dembski of Syncopated Pictures. Stay tuned for a movie!Once we arrived at the Carnegie Museum, the groomsmen changed into matching customized Converse All Stars.Liz and Ryan love to dance. They got a little last minute practice in right before the reception. No prettier place to do this than the Hall of Architecture!Liz and Ryan: beautiful, talented and brave: their first dance was a choregraphed salsa dance, full of energy and joy.Just one of many laughs during the three toasts – this one by Ryan’s Best Man.I expected some great dancing from the guys with those purple Chucks, and they did not disappoint. If you’d like, you can use the next three photos to play Name That Tune. If you post a comment with the correct song, Liz and Ryan will get a complimentary 8×10 print!Liz and Ryan – congratulations! I’m so very happy for the two of you and so glad to have been there to document your absolutely amazing wedding day. Thank you!

Beautiful photos! I LOVE the dress shot; I’m totally going to steal…err…borrow that idea :) The orchard shots are great and the first dance photos are perfect. Loving the last shot too, great depth of field!

This is a classic “Christina Montemurro” wedding. A fun couple who wants to enjoy their wedding day and have an meaningful, slightly unorthodox photography experience. My favorite photo is Liz taking a bite of the apple seconded by the photo of the toasts. Fantastic job on lighting everything so well, indoors and out. Cheers to Liz and Ryan!

Wedding details: elegant paisley invitations, place cards, and more!

My jaw dropped when I opened Lauren and Sid’s wedding invitation. I’m a fan of anything with swirls, and so I immediately fell in love with the swirly paisleys on the invitation and response card. Lauren and Sid found these gems, called Park Avenue by Postscript Brooklyn at a shop near their home in Brooklyn, New York, Lion in the Sun.undefinedThe rest of the wedding stationery matched the invitations perfectly. Designed by Rachel Spirer (who’s married to Phipps’ head caterer, Jeff Spirer) they tied everything together.

Escort cards…undefinedAnd finally, my two favorites – the menu cards and table numbers. I loved these striped linens with orange accents so very much. Together with the coral napkins – truly gorgeous.

undefinedAdd a little sunlight and the centerpiece of orange peonies, and we’re done. Beautiful choices, Lauren and Sid!undefined
