Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer | Christina Montemurro bio picture
  • Hello! I’m Christina.

Welcome! If you're looking for a wedding or portrait photographer in the Pittsburgh area, you're in the right place.

Choosing a photographer is one of the most important decisions you'll make during your wedding planning. It's so important to find someone you can trust to capture the big and small moments of your wedding day, and someone who makes you feel comfortable at ease.

I'm known for being laid back and relaxed, and respect that this is your day to celebrate and enjoy. My goal is to get you beautiful images efficiently and unobtrusively so that you have lots of time for fun.

Leo’s Soccer Rivalry

There are lots of moms in this fine world of ours. And most of them have cameras. I’m in the majority, but I suspect that I’m a little more extreme when it comes to photography gear. A couple weeks ago we attended a bowling party. I’d decided ahead of time that I’d focus on shooting cinema (aka video) rather than pictures, so that meant I didn’t need any flash equipment. I compensated by bringing my camera, three lenses, a monopod and a field recorder. A little overboard? Maybe.

This past Saturday, Leo (my 6-year-old) had a soccer game. Cinema was on my mind again (I am rather excited about the launch of Syncopated Pictures after all), but I knew the field was going to be really muddy. So this time I traveled light, just two lenses, camera and monopod.

You never know what’s going to happen at soccer. This time I got lucky, because like the last time I shot Leo’s soccer game, Leo knew a few of the kids on the opposing team. Leo has come a long way, and is a lot more aggressive and successful on the field. His opponent Elena was none too happy about this. The screen capture preview below cracks me up most of all, because you might get the impression these two were sharing a moment. Don’t think so!

Enjoy!

I’m thrilled that you’re a mom gone overboard. Actually, this is a bonus for me since I benefit from your passion, skill, and effort. It’s a joy to see Leo and Elena’s personalities come out on the field. Great job on this edit.

Pittsburgh brides and grooms: say hello to wedding cinematography

I’ve met with many, many engaged couples who have asked whether they should hire a videographer. It’s a personal decision, and can be a difficult one. But you know what might make it an easier call? Having the option of a compelling, cinematic, rich movie that tells your story. Not just a chronological rehashing of your wedding day in moving, talking pictures – but a short feature about you, your wedding day, and your relationship with your spouse.

This option now exists here in Pittsburgh! I’m so, so happy to announce that I am teaming up with Randi Voss and Nicki Dembski to form Syncopated Pictures. Want to know more about what this wedding cinema business is all about? Head on over to our site and read more.

While you are there, you do NOT want to miss our brand new three-minute feature of Kayt and Harry’s gorgeous evening wedding at the Heinz History Center.

The show will go on here at Christina Montemurro Photography – for my current clients, nothing will change at all for your weddings this year. It’s really not possible to shoot moving and still pictures competently at the same time, so I’ll be sticking to photography for all my current bookings. And nothing could make me stop loving shooting weddings, so please don’t hesitate to contact me for photography, too!

Any questions, please ask.
