This past Saturday, I had the distinct pleasure of photographing Tanya & Frank’s wedding celebration at Roselea Farm in Coraopolis, just a few miles from the Pittsburgh airport.

Earlier this summer, Tanya and Frank were married on the beautiful Isla Mujeres in Mexico. Now it was time for 235 of their family and friends to join them to celebrate! While Pittsburgh does not have quite the same dazzling scenery of the Caribbean sea, Tanya and Frank did find a beautiful location, Roselea Farm. This unique, perfectly maintained estate is a private home, but also has a functioning greenhouse with gorgeous plants for sale at select times of the year. And, once in a while, they allow the property to be rented for events.

Big thanks goes out to my friend Jennifer Stein for shooting with me all day.

Tanya and Frank are fun-loving people who don’t take much too seriously. An unusually high number of their photos look like this:

They were up for anything!

The house had this beautiful breezeway. I loved the color and texture of the interior as well as the gorgeous archways.

Tanya & Frank surprised their family and friends with the announcement: “Mexico refused to recognize Tanya & Frank’s marriage because their family and friends weren’t there.” So a Pennsylvania magistrate performed a ceremony in front of the barn.

No traditional romantic first dance shot for this couple!

Tanya and her dad are very close and their dance was very moving.

After dinner, guests were treated to a very special appearance by none other than Elvis Presley.

Okay, who am I kidding? It wasn’t just the guests that were treated. I was pretty excited to meet the King, myself!

Congratulations, Tanya and Frank! I had a blast being a part of your celebration.

Last weekend I spent a little time in North Park with now 18-month old Simon. This adorable little boy has appeared here before, twice in fact, at 9 months and 12 months. Of course he is still absolutely adorable and charming.

Oh boy… as the mom of two boys, myself, I sure know this look…

Simon’s mom, Joelene, has a beautifully unique tattoo that celebrates motherhood.

Simon’s older brother Jesse came along too, so I couldn’t resist capturing a few images of him, too.

Thanks for a fun morning, boys!

Okay, so that’s an awfully long title for what’s a very simple, beautiful, elegant product.

Here’s the idea: instead of a line-filled book that your wedding guests sign, I can custom-design a hardcover album for you with images from your engagement session. The design allows plenty of space around your pictures for guests to write their good wishes for you.

You can choose a solid color photo, or use one of your images as your cover. The covers are so smooth – you have to touch one to fully appreciate it.

Your images are printed directly onto the pages of the book.

And these aren’t just for weddings – they are great for family and lifestyle sessions, too! Contact me at info at christinamontemurrophotography dot com for more information.

This past Saturday, September 12, 2009, I was so thrilled to join the talented and enthusiastic Randi Voss for Danielle and Tom’s wedding.

What a sweet couple! Danielle and Tom were both so calm, laidback and relaxed. You could clearly tell that they were listening to the advice that so many give to couples getting married: “just relax and try to enjoy every minute because it goes so fast.”

Danielle was all smiles. All day!

Just for fun, a little zoom blur on the bridesmaid’s exit.

After the ceremony in Duquesne’s beautiful chapel, we walked through the campus for some pictures. (One of the groomsmen, a Penn Stater, saw the football field and asked if that was the “practice field.” I guess it is a little smaller than Beaver Stadium, which probably seats about 107,000 more people.)

In Randi’s blog post, she shared a photo of her removing a very long yellow rope that would have interfered significantly with the group bridal party photo. I’d like to document that she did indeed put it back!

Danielle & Tom’s reception was at the Radisson in Greentree. They chose table names rather than numbers, and the names were various places, people and items significant to them.
