Amy & Matt's wedding – Pittsburgh, 4th of July!

I had the pleasure of working with Jessica Slavic of JESPhotography again this past Saturday for Amy & Matt’s 4th of July wedding extravaganza. Jess puts everyone at ease with her calm, confident manner. She’s so relaxed and unobtrusive and still always on top of what’s happening, never missing a moment. Be sure to visit Jess’s blog for many more images of Amy & Matt’s wedding.

I can’t say enough about Amy and Chooch – I mean, Matt – and their wedding party. I knew I was in for a day full of laughs and hijinks as soon as I started photographing the groomsmen. A lot of men are not so into the whole picture-taking experience, but these guys were not only cooperative and handsome, they were all natural and comfortable in front of the camera, and even came up with some of their own ideas of how to pose. These group photos were all taken at the Embassy Suites in Coraopolis near the Pittsburgh airport.

And if you’re wondering, what’s with “Chooch”? I have no idea, but all the guys were calling Matt Chooch and before I knew it, so was I. As there was another Matt in the group, calling him choose made things a little clearer. When Chooch’s parents arrived, I thought to myself, “ok, better start calling him Matt again” – but the next thing I knew, I heard his mom calling him Chooch, too.

Here comes the bride…

Here comes the bride

The priest permitted us to shoot from the doors at the back of the altar, so I was able to get a different angle of the kiss.

A bubbly exit!

I joined the bridal party in their enormous limousine van as they drove from St. Phillip’s in Crafton to Robin Hill Park in Coraopolis. There were bubbles in the limo, too… and on the right, Scott’s doing a little air guitar serenade to “Summer of ’69.”

At Robin Hill Park, while Jess photographed the women, once again I had the fun of working with the guys. We had a lot of fun with their individual shots.

Amy’s dress, hair, everything… gorgeous. And I think she looks like Kristen Bell.

Congratulations, Amy & Matt – hope you’re having a wonderful time in Jamaica!
