I’d completely forgotten about this shot of Jonas from some time in the past week or two. How completely adorable is he?!?!

Our adventure began with a beach umbrella – or, to be more accurate, our lack of a beach umbrella. Since Matt and I both prefer shade to sun, I wanted to be sure we had a nice, big beach umbrella for our trip to the beach. True, we’re not going until August, but I’ve had bad luck with seasonal items being out of stock toward the end of the season. So, one evening last week while Matt was out golfing, I suggested to Leo that we head over to Target to look for a beach umbrella.

I did have another motive. I wanted to do some location scouting around the Waterfront as I thought it had some potential as an engagement shoot location. So, before we arrived at Target, I pulled into the parking lot near the site I had in mind. I planned to grab a couple wide-angle shots from the car, but Leo expressed an interest in getting out. We wandered around for a little while, and ventured down toward the railroad bridge, when I saw a sign: HOMESTEAD LABYRINTH.

I’d never seen a labyrinth around there, and intrigued, continued down the path, until sure enough, we found the just-completed Homestead Labyrinth. By chance, artist Lorraine Vullo was there, and we were able to briefly talk to her and learn that it had just opened a few days earlier.

We spent so much time enjoying the labyrinth and the area around it… we never made it to Target for that beach umbrella.

Leo couldn’t wait to tell Matt all about it. “It’s so neat, you can’t even imagine it!” So, two nights later, we all returned together for another visit.

A “put the camera on the ground self-timer” family portrait:

Matt wanted a turn with the camera. The rest of the photos are his. And so I make a few rare appearances here! Jonas mostly wanted to sit on my lap and snuggle. Such a sweet little guy.

Tiffany & Joe met me Sunday evening at Mellon Park in Shadyside. Joe was a little puzzled when I suggested Mellon Park as our destination, as he was familiar with the side of the park with the baseball fields and basketball courts. The park, however, spreads across busy 5th Avenue, and on the other side, there are beautiful gardens, stone walls, iron gates… cobblestones… I could spend all day there.

Tiffany & Joe are gorgeous!

This past Saturday I had the privilege of working as second shooter for Jess Slavic of JESPhotography as she photographed Stefany & Patrick’s wedding. This sweet couple got super lucky with a gorgeous sunny June day.

The flowers were amazing, from the flower girls’ baskets to the bouquets to the centerpieces at the reception.

This little girl is going to be a star someday. I didn’t ask to take her picture or ask her to pose… she was sitting on this ledge, caught my eye and tilted her head… so of course I shot away.

Stefany & Patrick’s reception was held at Salvatore’s in Baldwin, just a little south of Pittsburgh.
